This year at Portola, Alayna is taking Drama as one of her electives. This year they have chosen Peter Pan for the 2007 play. The kids auditioned for parts. Alayna had multiple characters: a mermaid, a pirate, and a forest fairy. She was also the stage manager! During the school's Open House, they gave a "sneak preview". This is a mermaid scene. The kids were very creative with their use of props since the school had no budget for them to work with!
Alayna had many people come to see her performance. Grandma and Grandpa, Kendra and the boys, Frank and the scouts, the Young Women! It was great all the support she was given. What was really exciting was Alayna was given another role as she was preparing for the evening's performance. The girl playing Aunt Millicent was unable to perform so...Alayna got to step in and did an INCREDIBLE JOB with all of her lines.
I knew I had a Drama Queen on my hands.
